An upright piano is a type of piano that has a vertical frame and strings, and it is typically smaller and more compact than a grand piano. A grand piano, on the other hand, has a horizontal frame and strings, and it is larger and more luxurious in appearance. Both upright and grand pianos are acoustic instruments, meaning they produce sound through the vibration of strings. A keyboard, on the other hand, can refer to a digital piano or an electronic keyboard, which do not have strings and produce sound through electronic amplification. Keyboards are typically more portable and versatile than acoustic pianos, and they often have a variety of built-in sounds and features. **

Both styles have their own unique challenges and rewards, and many pianists enjoy exploring and performing both genres. Ultimately, the choice between jazz and classical piano comes down to personal musical interests and goals. **

Some of my favorite works in classical piano and piano music include Ludwig van Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata," Frédéric Chopin's "Nocturnes," and Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Piano Concerto No. 2."
